Telemedicine Services Compliance

Summit provides telemedicine services in compliance with the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and the Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations, 2002.

Registered Practitioners

All mental health professionals on our platform are:

  • Registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) or appropriate medical council
  • Licensed to practice in India
  • Qualified with relevant degrees (M.D. Psychiatry, M.A./M.Phil Clinical Psychology, etc.)
  • Maintaining valid professional indemnity insurance

Mode of Consultation

Consultations are provided through:

  • Video conferencing (preferred for initial consultations)
  • Audio calls (for follow-up sessions with established patients)
  • Text-based chat (for non-emergency queries and asynchronous support)

Limitations of Telemedicine

Important: Telemedicine has limitations and may not be suitable for all conditions or situations.

  • Telemedicine cannot replace in-person emergency care
  • Some conditions require physical examination and in-person treatment
  • Technology failures may interrupt consultations
  • Your therapist may recommend in-person consultation if deemed necessary

Patient Rights

As a patient, you have the right to:

  • Choose your healthcare professional
  • Access your medical records
  • Confidentiality of your health information
  • Informed consent before any treatment
  • Refuse treatment at any time
  • Seek a second opinion
  • File a complaint if dissatisfied with services

Prescription Guidelines

Prescriptions issued through telemedicine:

  • Will be digitally signed by the registered medical practitioner
  • Will include the practitioner's registration number
  • Are valid for purchase at any pharmacy in India
  • For controlled substances, may require in-person consultation as per law

This platform is NOT for emergencies
